My son joined the soccer team!

My son has been asking me if he can join the soccer team or not since he started going to elementary school. I kept saying no because I used to hear from other parents that parents has to drive them every week to the soccer competition and help them with all kinds of stuff on the weekend. I didn't want to get involved too much. However,one of the mom told me that the parents has to get involved only once a month, so I told my son ' Okay, you can go to the trial lesson, and see if you like it or not.' I remembered my childhood experience. I wanted to join the basketball team when I was in middle school.However, my mom said 'No. You can't join the basketball team because you are already too tall and if you become taller than that, you won't be able to find the man that will marry you.' I don't want my son blaming me in future saying 'My mom didn't let me join the soccer team when I was young. ' So, I went to the soccer practice with him today. He enjoyed it very much and decided to join the team. He looked so happy! It made me happy to see his smile:)
